TV out quality when running MPEGs

Anyone care to comment on the quality of 200 dollar video cards using TV out to display DVDs or MPEG files?

The quality is as good as the resolution of the video file you have. In some ways though it looks better on a tv than the monitor since the tv is limited to resolutions whereas the resolution on the monitor is usualy way better than the file. Overall I like it for having a computer hooked up to my HT and using it to play tv shows.
