View Full Version : Don't watch previews of StarTrek: Nemesis!

I intentionally learned as little as possible about this movie, ignoring TechTV's features and innumerably previews. When I actually saw it this afternoon, I VERY MUCH enjoyed it.

Also... DONT READ SPOILERS!!!!!!!! There is too much that happens, and the "oh!" factor is lost if you see it coming.

I don't consider myself a trekkie (or trekker, or whatever they call themselves) but I do follow the story, and this installment was very well done. Not too big (blow up the galaxy), not too small(personal vendetta) but comfortably in the middle.

now, i'm not doggin on you people who like star trek so much, and i've seen a few episodes of the various spinoffs, so i can see how people enjoy them, BUT....

i've seen three of the star trek movies (um, the one with the whales, star trek generations, and one other i can't remember), and judging from those and the previews for this newest one, i feel like these star trek movies are just like longer episodes of the series. they don't strike me as particularly outstanding productions, and since i'm not that big of a fan, i'd rather not pay that much money to watch what appears to be an extended episode of TNG...

I liked Star Trek Deep Space Nine... it was slow going at first then it got good.

I saw Nemesis last night with my brother and about 6 other friends, and ALL of us loved it. Definately go and see it yourself rather than read the reviews.

I'd rate the movie overall an 8 our of 10.

I definitely liked it. Then again, I tend to mainly judge movies by my enjoyment of them. I thought this was definitely entertaining.

I'd suggest watching it at a good movie theater. Somewhere with good sound and a quality projector.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one. I haven't gotten my Star Trek fix since voyager went off the air.

I really liked the movie! :D It had good humor, good action, and the plot was actually pretty well done imo.

I'm a huge ST fan. I watch every ep, every movie, and read most of the books. I could care less what other people think about it.

To be sure - not all eps, books, and movies are good - but frankly, ST is my own "sports team". I'm a loyal fan, rain or shine. Forgive the pun, but logic does not apply. ;)

Acting was good, action was good, but the plot/story could have used a little more work. I'm a Star Trek fan and I really enjoyed it, but it's written so that you don't need to be a fan to enjoy it.

I liked it a lot. I saw a little something new in each of the characters, which was nice.

I just hope we don't have to wait four more years for the next movie. How about a hybrid DS9/Voyager flick that brings back Cisco?
