At Best Buy retail store ads for this week, Toshiba 1.5 ghz 1115-S103 laptop $999 - $500 rebates = $499. Only 10 per store. I bought the same model in Circuit City for $699 last Black Friday. Returning it if I get one in Best Buy.

The price before mail in rebates is $999.99 both in Circuit city & Best Buy, and I don't know of any store that would match prices after rebate. Do you?

I did get one from Best Buy this morning so I am returning the one I bought in Circuit city which fortunately I have not mail in the rebates.

I am really surprised. I got this laptop this morning. There were only seven people waiting to take advantage of this deal shortly after 9 AM.
FYI, COMPUSA also has this deal for $649 after rebates, also online. (Well, they had it online at 8 AM EST)

I went to my Best Buy this morning and the guy told me that they sold out before they even opened the store. Why advertise a minimum of 10 per store, if you sell them all to your employees and their friends.

Best Buy friggin sucks. Does anyone have any corporate contacts for them (VP of crappy customer service)?

They tried that crap with me last year (Black Friday) on a video card. They had a $150 card for $100 after rebates. I was one of the first ones in, and there was only 1 on the shelf that a guy ahead of me took. They promised 10, and I bitched. The store manager told me that there were 10 in stock, and 10 were sold. I argued and got my way. That was with just the store manager. I bet you would get better results if you took it higher in the food chain, as well.

Ask and you shall recieve

Mr. Bradbury Anderson, CEO
Best Buy Co., Inc.
PO Box 9312
Minneapolis, MN 55440-9312

I mailed them a month ago, got a We're sorry reply....I wish I had the corporate address not a PO Box because customer service reps intercept the letters before they even get to the CEO.
