Rant of the day -

NO ONE in my department ever says "You're welcome" - instead, they all say "No problem".

Manners. bah

I say "no problem".
In some cultures saying "you're welcome" isn't actually proper. While saying "no problem" or something to that fact is the proper way.

Hmmmm... "No Problem" is polite. At least I understand it to be. It's along the lines of "It was nothing". "You're Wlecome" is kinda stuffy.

I worked with a few Irish folks a couple of years ago. They like to say "No Worries". I kinda like that. :D

When I was in the fifth grade, I moved from Virginia to Pennsylvania. I was accustomed to replying; "Yes Sir" and "Yes Maam". Well, that didn't go over too big around here. After a few fights, I soon learned never to use those terms again.

i dunno... i think, over time, "yes sir" and "yes maam" have come to be associated with a tone of sarcasm or mockery, so i can see why it may cause some people to react strangely to it...
