It seems that staples.com has run out of Sidewinder Freestyle Pros. Normally I wouldn't mind that much but they sent me a confirmation saying that my order will be shipped, and then a few hours later tell me to disregard the confirmation because they are out of stock.

Now I'm probably just being a little over uptight here but you can't just go around disragarding confirmations can you?

I wonder if I can buy something from them and then disregard my order after they ship it... seems only fair.

Anyways, if you ordered a freestyle pro from staples.com, I would ask for a second confirmation of shipment.

You just learned the hard way that Staples sucks big time! Do a search on Staples in this forum and you'll see all the problems. I'm personally cautious when ordering from them now.

I just got mine today. The rebate is a sticker that comes on the box. Just send it in with proof of purchase and I guess wait a few weeks.

I got mine as well but I didn't see a rebate offer. I was looking for a rebate card. I will have to look for the sticker.

I bought my Freestyle Pro about a month ago (with the rebate plus $10 buy.com plus $7 pricematch = $0.90). It's a good controller. You do get confused though because the D-pad isn't exactly straight on your thumb. Sometimes when you think you are pressing down, you are actually pressing down-right. The motion sensor can be a bit sensitive at times. But most of the time I turn the sensor off.

thanks for the info fury. I'll keep it in mind when I hook it up.

BTW,

If you happen to NOT receive the rebate sticker with the controller, just call the MS Rebate Center (the number eludes me right now, but it was posted in another thread; I'm sure you can find it somewhere) and they will send you the rebate card. I called them and confirmed this. I'm still waiting for my pad.
