XBox DVD playback kit

I just got one for 15 bucks at circuit city. Anyways, Bestbuy advertised the Xbox at one point as being a progrssive scan DVD player, and I have yet to see anyone else claim this. Is it truly a progressive scan player, or did bestbuy have some clueless worker make up a sign while having no clue what was actually going on.

it is a progressive scan player. you will need component cables for it to work

i have the advanced HD kit so i will be using component. Do movies play in progressive scan, or just the games?

The Xbox IS NOT a progressive scan DVD player without a mod-chip. Check out Hapoo's post in this thread for some infomative sites in the Xbox mod sceen:

Neither Xbox nor PS2 supports progressive scan for DVD movies. Xbox supports progressive scan for games.

thanks. so basically i really didnt need this since I have a 200 DVD changer. Oh well, having a single DVD player as well wont hurt anything.
