I'm looking at the benchmarks and consistently my video card is slower than than it's smaller brother. It makes no sense.
I have a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128 video card and it gets beat by the same one with only 64 MB across all the games except for Dungeon Siege. It makes no sense I tell ya!!
The 128meg GeForce 4 Ti 4200 uses slower memory than the 64 meg GeForce 4 Ti4200. Even the link shows this.

Doh...should read instead of scan through. :D
"dont the newer 8X 128MB Ti4200s have the same memory {speed) now as the older 64MB Ti4200s?" Yes.

128mb cards are long-term investments (if you can really call it that an investment). Wait until Doom3 comes out :)
I just got a Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb last week. I think I'll last me a while.

Wow, video cards and long-term investments in 1 sentance. There's something I never thought I'd hear. ;)

Bah!
My last card lasted at least 1 year and the 4600 i bought a couple of months ago will last at least until I can find a 9700pro for under $250. Long lasting investment is relative.

I love my Albatron ti4200 Turbo:
1. Power by nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 GPU
2. 8 Layers designed
3. 128MB DDR Memory (3.3ns BGA)
http://www.albatron.com.tw/VGA_Card/img/Ti4200XP_turbo.gif
Running it at ti4400 speed right now in my XPC. Once I get it in my big case (new system) hopefully it will go higher (I think it's too hot in the XPC). These cards most of the time have reached the avg o/c speeds of a ti4600. :)

The last and first video card I had was a 32MB TNT2 M something which I used for about 4-5 years. I only recently replaced it with the Xtsay GeForce4 Ti 4200 128MB video card.
I think this video card will last me another 3-4 years.

I think that as long as you don't play a lots of the latest FPS type games, the video card will last a while.
