When I bought tires from Winston Tires a while back I got a coupon for free lifetime oil changes. Well, they went bankrupt, and since I am both lazy and cheap, I was wondering if anyone knew where a good deal on a quick oil change is here in the Sacramento area.

***Not that I'm in your area but what do you all think is a supper deal on an oil change, and yes we are including an oil filter with that...

with a coupon, i can get it done by a decent shop (in the north-west detroit suburbs) for $15.95.
i know in lansing, mi, there's a place that offers changes for $9.95 or $12.95, but i don't exactly trust them....
but i'd say anything around $15 is a decent deal

depends on what you're getting done, and what garage you go to.
at the chain muffler type places (midas, etc), they charge around $75.00/hr.
at a private garage that replaced my fuel pump last month, it was around $50/hr.
i think you can find small private places that charge as little as $40/hr for stuff like brakes, exhaust, etc.

An oil change at Jiffy Lube is like $30-$50. Yikes...but it takes less than 30 minutes. I've gone to other places where it maybe 10-20 and I waste half a day.
Never let them charge you to change your air filter. It costs like $10 for filter and you can do it yourself in 10 seconds.

How come nobody has mentioned Walmart? Their prices are like $16 for oil and filter change. $19 for full service (includes previous plus fluid check window wash vacuum, other fluids check....) or 30 for synthetic. I used to go there all time, till I moved away from a close walmart. They are fairly fast and you can get some shopping done or eat mcdonalds. Nothing but good experiences there.

I love walmart, although the ones around here do not offer automotive service...

wow. that's a lot. i always get full synthetic and it's around $50. it's generally about 22 for regular and you can always find competitor's coupons to make it cheaper.
