There's probably a good 6 inches of snow on the ground here at my parents' house in Findlay, OH already with another 6 inches expected by noon tomorrow (Christmas Day). It's REALLY coming down right now and the wind is howling! I just opened the back door of the house and the snow was drifted up almost 2 feet! The dog had to jump over the pile to get outside so that he could relieve himself. :)

I think they blew the forecast here. The ground is slightly white but it's 35 and drizzling. They were calling for 12"+. Boneheads. :bawl:

We're expect 8-12 here in the Boston area when it's all done. Looks like I'll be in working late tonight...

i think we have a white Christmas 90% of the time here. i live near enough to Lake Ontario to get what is called "lake effect snow".
anyone ever heard of that?

Yes! I've had the pleasure of being caught in many a lake effect storm in Syracuse New York. Does anyone know if Syracuse still does the ice sculptures?

Whoops. I take back my earlier post. We're at 8 inches and counting. Weather was such that we never made it up to my parents' house today -- barely made it back from my sister-in-law's (10 minutes away turned into a 30 minute ride). Boy am I happy not to be going back to work until Monday.

I was up at 3am this morning, first I had to dig myself out then it was off to work to dig them out. It's about 12 noon now and this is the first chance I had to sit down and relax and have a bite to eat. On my way back and forth to work people in the street were stopping me asking me to plow out there driveways, the rain mixed with snow definitely made it heavy to shovel...

oh yeah.....those of us in michigan are quite familiar with the concept.

although were i grew up (in the center of the state) was far enough east that we usually only get the edge of the lake-effect snow. but in holland, where my GF went to school, it snowed constantly.

at my parents house, we got between 5 and 6 inches. not too bad, all in all....
