I don't know what would have been worse, we have these friends that we have grown close too and this year they have overdone it in gift giving. What would have made you feel worse, accepting there most generous gifts and exchanging nothing in return or had given something trivial which would have been in no comparison to theres given. Needless to say I feel like a lump of coal right now.:banghead:

Unless you're on the bottom of the stocking hanging by the fireplace, you shouldn't feel like a lump of coal...Now here's my $23.00's worth of opinion.
First off, personally, for myself..I know when I give a gift to my family ( sisters & their ******* boyfriends)lol..I do it because I HAVE to...But when I give to those I feel close to...Friends included...I do it because its something I enjoy...For me..giving someone a gift that I know will not only surprise them but will be appreciated, gives me my own personal thrill...its what I'm all about...I love surprises...(not like getting plunked on the head with a Mars bar, but almost like that ) :P I never give a gift and expect something in return...So... unless your gift was a car, or a diamond ring, or an implant ( what I wanted ):D I say don't think twice about it...I'm almost positive their intentions weren't to make you feel like a lump of coal...I'm usually right lol...I believe if they bought you something, and didn't mention anything to you beforehand...it was intentional
because they didn't want you to feel like you had to buy for them...

:P :)
