The display quality is noticeably inferior to Active Matrix. Forget about playing any games, doing graphic work, or just about anything other than word processing. Personally, I would much rather go for a slower processor and get an Active Matrix screen than a faster processor w/ dual scan.

For the dualscan effect:
Either go to a used computer store/pawn shop in your area and tell them you want to see the best notebook they have or just drop a couple hits of acid and stare at your monitor...same effect.

I stopped at BestBuy right after work. They have the same computer for the same deal. You are right. Really bland and dull screen!!Thanks. I was ready to buy this!

I'd suggest Outpost.com, as they ship overnight free of charge and have a very loose return policy, 30 days with NO restocking fees (most places are 14 days with 15% restock fee, which on a $2k laptop will run $300!) Plus they'll send Airborne out to pick it up for $10. No probs with them ever, and good prices too. But yeah, avoid HPA, DSTN, Dual Scan.
