i'm thinking of getting one... mostly for personal video production.. at times I perform classical music with some other friends in public and i wanted to make recordings into dvds. Any suggestions on what to get? I heard the SONY DRU 500A is good.. but most of the on line stores were outta stock till late january.. can anyone help me find something?

I am seriously considering that Pioneer unit (DVD-R/RW) on today's deals page. From what I have been reading, most newer players will play both DVD-R and DVD+R. So the cost premium for the Sony may not be worth it.
