I am looking to purchase a new video card, I don't play a lot of video games but I do like a high quality picture, any suggestions...

Perhaps the Radeon 9000 which is inexpensive and has great image quality.

Or even a Radeon 9500?

Or maybe a Radeon 9100 aka Radeon 8500.

Radeon 9500 is ~$150 and may be out of his price range.

Yeah a Radeon 8500 {LE} and GeForce4 MX460 will do also.

Its not that Nvidia videocards have bad image quality. But generally ATI cards are sharper in high resolutions like 1600x1200.

If you have $$$, get the R9500Pro. If not, go for the R8500LE or whatever ATI decides to replace it with (R9100)!

My brother was telling me that the 8500 soon to be 9100 is a little faster than the 9000. Has anyone read this?

Here's a thread about it.

I ordered a Radeon 9500Pro the other day and it gets in tomorrow... as a dual monitor user, I'll post back how it does when all's said and done. I GUESS I could play some games on this card as well ^_^ it beats out the GF4 Ti4600 in all tests involving Anti-Aliasing and Anthroscopic Filtering. Money in the bank for $199 shipped retail :D

This will be my first venture with ATi, so hopefully it's all true about their image quality.
