View Full Version : surprise gifts...that you already have
ok...not really gifts so much as...just stuff you run across that you just decide to start using some day. like...you buy them and then never manage to use them. then one day you need to use them, and from then on it's like one of them free gift offers that you're so stoked on, cuz it's like you just got it :P
when i first got my foreman grill, i never used it for like a year and a half. i got it prolly from one of the amazon gift certs that i hadda use before it expired. when i moved here, it was like...a new toy that i use every day :D
also...there's my hamer double cutaway that i used for a while...but got pushed aside because i like the tone of the nylon string better. i used the nylon string for all my jazz, rock, blues...etc. again, since i got here, i seem to play it every day. it's just like a new toy again :D
so i'm curious if y'all got some "new toys" that you've had and forgotten...or if oc's gonna call me crazy again :P

Well, on numerous occasions, I've been given nothing. And I already have a lot of that.

We have a foreman grill that I never use but my wife uses it because she likes the minimal mess idea. I do have this gadget called an easy chopper, it's not new but I'll stop using it for a while and just chop everything up by hand with a knife, then once I use it again I'll say to myself what was i thinking this makes everything so much easier and I go on using it again for a while...

Well, I recently won a wide-bread toaster (can toast bread or even bagels), but haven't used it yet..... I'm sure that once I do buy some bagels though, I'll try it out and keep using it from then on. :)

I hate those george foreman grills...they really aren't easy to clean. All the stuff gets burned between the grills and has to be scraped off and the scrapings fly everywhere..probably the most useless kitchen appliance i own.
As far as the new/old toys..i came across my old pager (which hasn't been in service a couple of years)the other day. And to my delight, it still recieves all the short text messaging news/scores/weather updates! It's great when i'm away from home and i need to know NFL scores :) I guess it'll go back in the drawer until next season :P

what??? all you have to do is get a clean soapy rag and wipe it down when it's still hot. takes 30-40 seconds max. that's one reason i love using mine. it's faster to clean than my stove and a pan.

:) I was going to say the same thing. I plug mine in close to the sink (if I have let it cool down after cooking) and wait 2 minutes and wipe it out into the sink.
As for the topic, yeah I do. But mostly with clothes. I will look at a top for 6 months in my closet and be totally turned off by it then one day start wearing it once a week. I also get that way with video games.
