Which is worse in your opinion....the drinker, or the one that enables them...

Is it better to just clam up and let them drink because it keeps the peace...or do you say something and wait for the blow...

Kind of a broad question. I mean, what kind of enabler are you talking about? There are co-dependants that "just clam up and let them drink because it keeps the peace" and then there are some that actually poke and prod an alcoholic to drink more. I would have to answer it would depend on the time of day. There are somedays when the co-dependant is worse and there are days when the alcoholic is worse. They cannot survive their habits without one another most of the time. *blame* just being one reason.

Either way, they need help to break the chain, anything that would work for them be it al-anon or what have you. Same for the alcoholic.
