nice restaurant in OC

can anyone suggest a nice restaurant in orange county to go to? i want to take my girlfriend to one, but im not familiar with the area. we both go to UCI so anything like newport beach is about a 10 minute drive. i kinda want to find something that over looks the water, but anything else nice/romantic would be great...thanx

Sorry I tend to stay away from beach front places of eating. I don't like seafood, and most places are thick with it.

I'd say BJ's brewery, or maybe the Sutter House in Fullerton. Stubrik's Steakhouse is really good, also in Fullerton. I don't know newport so I'm no help down that way.

Sorry, I don't know places in OC, however, if you are willing to make a slightly longer drive, I would suggest a place here in long beach, Parker's Lighthouse. It overlooks the water, and I believe you can see the Queen Mary from there too. Its got pretty good seafood as well.
IF you really wanna take her to a nice place and willing to take an even longer ride, try Yamashiro. I took my fiance there for her bday last year and she loved it. Its got a awesome view of LA because its located on a hill. Its not easy to find tho.

Drive pdown PCH there are a few nice places. Joe's Crab Shack is fairly good. But I don't know their names. THere is this place close to Joe's Crab shack that you get on a boat and they take you around the harbor. My old workplace used that for their holiday dinner last year. Even in Huntington beach there are some nice places like Inka Grill and what not on the pier. Good luck

Chart House or something on PCH near Balboa in Newport. My friend always raves about that place.

There are a lot of good places to eat around Newport. Just go to the Balboa Pier and walk into a place that interests you.

anyhow, whatever you do, don't eat at the galaxy theater. if you go to see a show, that's fine. just...fill up on stuff before you go and maybe order appetizers there.

Chart House in Newport Beach. Pricey, but damn good food and GREAT atmosphere.

If you want something a bit more casual try Angelo and Vincci's in downtown Fullerton. Funky Italian place with a fun vibe. Best pizza in OC, IMHO.

Go to the five crowns restaurant. It is down PCH in corona del mar. It has great prime rib. It is associated with Lawrys. http://www.lawrysonline.com/fivecrowns/index.html

Get a cut of prime rib and creamed corn. mmm mmm mmm.

A little costly though, so get an entertainment book and save some money.

Check out The Cannery, in Newport. It's pretty nice. The swordfish is really good.

There is a place called Wilma's Patio Resturant....and it's pretty good. It's in Newport Beach.
