Neighbors ! Everyone has them...
Do you get along with them or them with you....and what kind of neighbor are you/them......the "over the fence chatty cathy neighbor" ...the loudmouth neighbor...the annoying neighbor...the lets fix my motorcycle muffler at 5 a.m.on a Saturday neighbor...are you the scantily clad dressed neighbor :P ...the too helpful neighbor...the neighbor that collects pink flamingos in the front yard, or cars in the back yard....the party neighbor...

I swear, I've had all the above, making me a professional neighbor collector...

...
...but was there any particular reason behind this thread? ...... :bonk:

I'm the guy that always yells at people to shut the hell up.

The way my appartment building is, sound from the in-front area can be heard very loudly at my apartment. The place is so hot, even in winter, that we have to sleep with the window open.

So every weekend, we get people pulling up with stereos blasting, dropping ppl off from parties or whatever.

So I get up on the balcony in my underwear and yell at them.

I've been fairly lucky with my neighbors over the years. Two of them needed minor attitude adjustments though. Vacuuming and/or having a conversation 5 feet from my open bedroom window at 2am is not acceptable. Four discussions, three complaints, and one threat of eviction later, they both got the message.

Boy do I have a story, My back yard is lined with Arborvitae tree's on the border. Half of it was 16 foot tree's and the other half was an eight foot fence. Well one day in a wind storm the fence blew down so I helped nature along and took down the rest of it. At first my every intention was to put up another fence, it was mine and on my property so I wasn't looking for a hand out and the neighbors kindly agreed while in small talk. Well when they saw 26 new Arborvitae tree's delivered to my house they started to get itchy, now they weren't so sure it was my fence. So I planted the tree's where my fence line was and then the trouble really started. So to make a long story short I had the land surveyed which cost me some big bucks and you know what, I actually owned more land than I thought, now I can smile silently. Oh, looks like they wont be leaning stuff on my tree's as they did my fence.

the neigbor and his fiance on the left side are very cool-
the old bitch on the right side is a nosy old hag with too much time on her hands who loves to start trouble for everyone in the neighborhood-every time she sees me outside-she comes running out to tell me "which one is taking drugs, and which kid smokes that marijuana pot,(which is what she calls it), and so forth and so on..I finally told her that I dont have time for her nonsense-and to please mind her own business not everyone else's because quite simply I DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT..
The "ones" across the street are complete white trash-who moved in with the wife's mother (who owns the home)..you'll find the wife(a recovering heroin addict, and her fat slob boozer of a husband) out in the street at 3am on a daily basis fighting about who said what to whom at the bar etc..the guy at the corner is never home, and when he is he is usually inside and no one ever sees him-he works wierd hours, and goes to visit his kids every other weekend in PA. The house on the other side of my cool neighbors has two families in it-the kids are nice, respectful etc etc..but the upstairs tennant is a bit off..
We are the ones who are always cleaning our yard, painting, planting flowers etc. I mind my own business-it's just better that way.

We bought our farm 3 years ago with the sole purpose of not having neighbors! Our closest neighbor is a half-mile away, and he's a single guy who doesn't make any noise. Well, sometimes I can hear him doing some target shooting, but only if I'm outside.

i don't like not knowing who my neighbors are. it's kinda common in cities. i lived in one for 2 yrs and never even spoke or was spoken to by a neighbor.

Thats terrible....I notice city people are like that though..
:bonk:
I think I'd like it to be a happy medium....knowing them, but not so they're up in your face...a hi when you pass them or go out in your yard would be cool enough for me...
