I cannot find my startup folder. I want to take a piece of software out of there that automatically starts up when I boot up my comp. I have searched my hard drive and for some reason can't find it. I know its there because I've taken stuff out of there before.
Can someone tell me what folder it's generally in?

Thanks!
That was real helpful. I notice I got a lot of stuff starting up when I turn my comp on. I'd like to get rid of what's not necessary but I don't want to mess around and delete something that needs to start up with the comp. Some of that stuff says "registry".
Any suggestions?

Actually, I don't have that in my programs menu anymore. And I know it was there at one point. It could have been deleted when I reinstalled my op sys.
I've been busy with finals and the holidays. Plus looking for a job, car problems, etc. But I'm still going strong! Prayerfully, I'll find something in the next few weeks since the holidays are behind us. Unemployment just ain't cutting it.
Thanks for asking!

Your welcome!
The good thing about using msconfig is if you uncheck something and your computer does not work right after a reboot then you can always go back and put the check mark back and fix the problem. you should be safe removing items from the start up tab but i would leave the other tabs alone. Ex, all the ini tabs.
