Nothing like it.

Was feeling a little sick lately. Wanted something homecooked and decided to try to make some. I like spicy intense foods when I have a cold. Didn't have all the ingrediants so I cheated.

Jel's ghetto beef curry stew:
-1 can of beef stew
-1 can of beef broth
-Leftovers,
steak from the other days BBQ.
papa's
etc.
-Onion chunks
-Curry powder
-Black pepper
-Salt

I removed the "beef" from the canned soup. Started simmering the soup. Added big chunks of leftover BBQ beef. Than the broth and rest of the ingrediants. Last was the onions. Stir once in a while and it thickens up a little. Add seasonings to taste. Let it simmer for 30+ minutes and bamn SOUP! Don't forget some toasted bread.

If you use all fresh ingrediants it takes all day. This took under an hour from the start of cooking to finish eating.

Anyone else do the homecooking thing and have any recipes for you basic bachelor.

ps: I also do a chicken w/ garlic soup for when I'm really sick.

There is not much better than hot stew on a chilly day.

I always make mine in the crock pot. Stew meat, vegies, spices, and let it cook all day. Of course you have to make some homemade rolls to go with it!
