I aided a summer school class of 6-8th graders this past year...To say the least it was more than a learning experience for me as much as it was for the kids...Most of those in the class obviously were there for help...alot of them were behavior problem kids...special ed...one 15 yr old who I still think needs to be locked up...and the like...with one exception...Working one on one with these older kids really opened my eyes:gle:...its funny how willing and free they were to share their family "secrets" with you ...Knowing these kids from being around town...recognizing parents from school functions...I will say, after actually hearing stories, watching them laugh and carry on about things they thought to be normal and would make even you shudder  I had to wonder no more why 95% of them were like they were...Of course, there's that one exception who sat quietly every day with such thought written all over her face...I learned later on after wondering about her gift in acing math, why she was there for extra help...and was told she had asked to come to summer school just so she could get out of her house :( ...
So...are you a product of your environment or are you the exception...
