Burn or Bury you......

:angel: Something we don't really give too much thought to...Would you rather be cremated or buried...and the big question would be, does your "other half" know this...enough where they would carry out your wishes...I know myself if my husband pisses me off, I'll have him buried out in the back with the dog :eek: instead of thrown out to sea... ;) Kidding
If cremated...where do you want your ashes spread ...

Given the choiice, I'd be cremated, and my ashes used to fertilize a newly planted elm tree. Any leftovers could be used for other plants.

But I want to die alone in a foreign land with no one but strangers around me, so I probably wouldn't have a choice under those circumstances.

Cremation..i wouldn't want my loved ones wasting thousands of dollars buring me. Ashes disposed of somewhere in the Grand Canyon.

I haven't given it much thought until this thread, Zen's idea sounds tasteful, maybe in a place you know the tree would be kept to grow. At any rate I would much rather people remember me as I was not as they see me in a casket for the last time. So I guess either closed casket or cremation.

My immediate family knows my preference for burial.

Just bury me with as little as possible...(ie. no coffin if possible) and plant an apple tree on top.

Since I can't stand the thought of having people weep over a slab of concrete-when I'll be elsewere-I prefer to be cremated..and have half my ashes spread out over the jersey shore, and from the other half-enough to fill four small totally sealed pendants-one for each of my kids-so that they remember that no matter where I am I will always be watching out for them.

Early Christians didn;t cremate their dead as the romans did, hence the catacombs of Rome, Alexandria, Antioch etc. It was believed to make resurrection immpossible when the 2nd coming eventually happens.

are your kids okay with that....cause if my parents did that..id bury the pendant

My religion dictates that I be buried in a plain pine box with no metal in it.....

Otherwise I would like to be fed to the fishes.

Don't particularly care. If I'm dead, I figure I've got bigger things to worry about. They can feed me to animals for all I care... actually that might not be a bad idea. The flesh wouldn't get wasted...
