I got it today too. It took 8 days for delivery from oregon to illinois. The 32mb memory seems to be too little. Only half of hour of cd-quality mp3 songs is not enough for me. Please post any good 64mb smartmedia deals. Thanks.

Did your nomad II come in a brown box with stickers saying "Promotional item not for resell?" If so, was everything complete? I am looking into selling it on ebay, and was wondering if I should open it to make sure everything is inside. Thanks.

Mine came in a retail box with a couple of big ol' white stickers (ok, one was huge over the box flap basically saying "promotional use only do not accept returns" and the other was smaller over the UPC code)...

Weird some are coming in near-OEM fashion now...

I got mine yesterday. VERY freakin' cool little device!

Emusic could have easily given away one of the cheap-o MP3 players, but the Nomad is a very well designed product. The built in radio and voice recording are a nice touch as well.

BTW, yes 32Mb really isn't enough, but I still can't complain.

How can I do a batch conversion of my MP3 files that are 160 bit to something smaller like 96 bit?

I have some 64 bit files on my Nomad and they sound fine, then I could pack over an hour on that 32 meg card.

Someone has an MP3 player with 8 megs on onboard space and no expansion slot. I just realized how stupid that was. I'm tried another 8 meg SM card from my camera and it holds two songs. So longer songs won't even fit on a 8 meg card.

I hot SM cards go way down in price!

The Smartmedia card is worth that. If I don't like the nomad, I'll bay the player, keep the 32MB smartmedia for my digicam, and make a quick and easy $50 on the deal. I think I will keep the player though, as I have seen them in the stores and they look really nice.

Looks like I found a way to get a 64 MB SM card for around $85. It involves a pointclick rebate and using a Visa at Mobshop. Please do this if you need one..the more people that buy a card drives the price down! The cycle ends saturday.

Be sure to upgrade your Nomads to the latest firmware 2.0. It's great, adds long file name support and better radio tuning. Just be sure to plug the machine directly into your USB not into a hub, or the firmware upgrade will crash.

they also made it so ups MUST obtain a signature at the time of delivery, so just signing the yellow notice and leaving it won't do you any good (just like drinks.com)

Is there anyway to combine pointclick.com with ******.com? They seem to do the same thing but pointclick is 10% and ****** is 7% at mobshop. If it's possible that would make that 64mb smartmedia card a pretty sweet deal. I'm probably going to do it regardless is you can combine them. 4 more people and it drops about $20.
