:D ... ok, I'm having fun with this one...and I'm not sure what responses if any I'll get, but as long as I'm amusing myself...here goes...
How much can your stomach take.....Do you have the iron stomach it takes to eat those good ole home cooked meals....
Do you have one of those moms or wives or girlfriends or someone that cooks....really well...though whenever you eat their cooking your stomach pains you hours later......or you end up with heartburn from all the spices...but you eat it anyway because its yummy and you cant bring yourself to not eat it...
Whats your cure if anything...or share an experience ...
Candybar time :bonk:

Ohh am I the guy for this thread. We go over my mothers for Sunday dinner every week and she kills me. I cant help but eat so much because everything is so good, its better when you don't have to cook it yourself. After eating there I have to lay down and pass out for a bit I'm so full, then I wake up with heart burn. I'll never learn...
what, people are supposed to cook at home?
isn't that was resturants <sp?> are for? :P

One piece of advice from someone who is VERY experienced with overeating... no matter how tired you feel, don't lie down after eating a big meal. If you have to sleep, sleep sitting down. Lying down after you've gorged yourself is a guaranteed way to get heartburn.

A typical "real" italian meal arrives in courses-in a very specific order I may add-
Bread-usually served with a side dish of olive oil-(best plain-but some add basil and course salt)
Soup (ok everyone thinks minestrone, but it's usually more like a broth of some sort)
Marinated vegatables -usually eggplant,squashes,mushrooms-its called (phonetically)"chawm-bought" don't ask me how to spell it-it's a mystery.
Meat or Fish,
Pasta-VERY SMALL PORTIONS, with a light sauce (almost watery)
and THEN the SALAD..
yep-Salad Always comes last...
It's a myth that italians always have sh|tloads of pasta on their tables....
of course-there is the wine, and room temp water with lemon slices..and espresso after the meal with one or two small cookies-just enough to clear the palate...
It usually takes a good 2 hours to eat a REAL homecooked italian meal-and I grew up with A BOATLOAD of these people and it was the same in every household..
