I'm researching living in other countries, and I found this little snippet:
"Almost every Australian I’ve met has a story about a loud American. The stereotype fits into the commercials and Hollywood overload. According to them, we’re all loud and rude. Without a clue about decorum, or possibly not a care. Take your own images of Pamela Anderson or stereotypes of fat old tourists with Bermuda shorts, weighed down with cameras and brochures, wandering as aimlessly as a housewife in her third hour at Walmart, and you’ll see what is expected of you."
This part - Without a clue about decorum, or possibly not a care. - is something I see every day. People going on, completely oblivious to their surroundings, things going on around them, and the impact they have on same. Traffic, for example, or shopping at the grocery store. The other day I was at the store, and this guy pushed his cart out of one of the aisles (moving at a pretty good clip) and into one of the "end lanes" (you know how grocery stores are laid out). He was looking behind him as he did this. Fortunately, there were no little kids in his path. If there had been, I'm pretty certain there would have been injuries involved.
Question - do you act like this too?
