because I no longer have a computer.

See, what happened is my new car that I got is a great car. And the dealership that I got it from was rather shady. They told me that my bank had approved my loan...which I found out later that it didn't. I didn't find this out (due to how slow banks can be) until AFTER the 3 day return policy.

So now...to get the loan and avoid having some sort of collection agency after me, I have to come up with a $1300 down payment so I can get the loan through Ford Motor Company.

So I sold my computer for it. :(

Anyway, what's even worse is, I got in an accident two days ago. I have to now come up with a $1000 deductible that I don't have. This entails me getting another job! This f**king sucks!

Ouch. :(
Well, good luck in finding another job. I had enough trouble finding just one.
You didn't mention the name of the shadey dealer. Did you file a BBB complaint against them?

Saturn of Santa Clarita.

They are owned and run by Galpin Ford.

No, I did not file a complaint against them.

do you have proof that they told you that? if so, you may be able to do something about it. i've seen some people get out of some shady **** from car dealers.

but then again, ,i've seen folks get screwed.

sorry to hear about your luck bro.

That happened to my roommate..but he made the dealer take the car back.

I would have to believe that if the dealership did not live up to the terms of the agreement, the contract would be void..and you wouldn't be held liable for the car.

In fact, the second day he had the car someone crunched him in a parking lot.

a couple days later the dealership said there was a problem with the financing..so he took it back..gave them the money for the deductible and told them to handle it.

Corsec, i'm willing to bet that if you had pressed them, they would've taken the car back regardless of the 72hrs.

For those who don't know, you have 72hrs to change your mind on ANY purchase made with a contract. Cars, Gym memberships..etc.

oof - sorry bout your probs dude. but i think you should raise a stink. THE DEALER screwed up, not you. and now YOU are paying for it. Go to the local news chanel or something. Maybe you can guilt the dealer into reimbursing your downpayment.

chin-up ;)

well, here's a story. sort of long but i'll try to make is short.

scott is my buddy. scott's father makes shady car deals. scott's father have him a ford explorer. the ford explorer showed 50k, scott's dad said it had 50k, and was 6 years old. (sound shady yet?)

scott, on a whim, goes to the ford place. trades for a new explorer. signs all the paperwork and what not. ford place calls him 2 days later and says he owes $7500 more, because the old explorer acutally had 150k (some older fords don't have a 1000000 place holder). well, scott had signed the paperwork in good faith, because shady dad had told him that there were 50k. but the title has a small notation that says it's really 150k.

clearly, in a consumers point of view, scott is not lible for the money. ford place disagreed. talks of them taking scott to court, taking the car, etc. however, after much bickering they finally agreed that it was their fault for not reading the title right, and left him alone.

i know that's not the same situation, but it sort of demonstrates that you don't have to let the dealership bully you.

good luck.
