Like everyone else, I've heard reports and rumors about the end of OD's LPG. Like several others, I called OD and the CS I got said, "I never heard of any change," ie; neither a yes or a no. But I think I have the answer.
Today I was in one of my local OD's and they were in the middle of unloading a couple of pallets of the new OD catalog (much thicker than the last one.) I grabbed one - and here's what I found on the page immediately facing the index to the catalog, with a red-letter heading:
"Low Price Guarantee
Office Depot is the world's largest [blah, blah, blah.]
Our Guarantee: If you find the same product advertised for less at any other office product supplier - even up to 7 days after you purchase - we'll match the price! Instantly!"
That's it then...no more general retailer matches and no more 155%! The fine print was pretty much unchanged:
"We reserve the right to limit quantities: of course, ad errors, close-outs, clearances, and Internet offers do not qualify."
Was still able to match today and all the rumors say that current policy will remain effective through Saturday. New policy to start Sunday, 8/6. Too bad.
