My hub was having a match about battlebots with my neighbor tonight-and they got into a heated arguement about the size of the arena that battle bots challenge in..I never saw a battlebot event so I have no clue-but I figured that someone on here would know that answer-Hub says that the arena is a SPECIFIC size all the time, like 7x10 or something like that-the neighbor says the arena can be any size you like..he said the arena can be 25 feetx25 feet or 100x100 if you like.. Who knows the dimensions and if the arena always has to be the same size? I'm sick of these grown men bickering like schoolgirls over this nonsense. I checked on the battlebot sight but I didnt find anything listing the size that the arenas have to be. Thanks.

I didn't think you could get into a heated argument over something like that, but if its the same show I'm thinking of with all them pits and fire stuff, my vote is for same size.

For the BattleBots featured on ComedyCentral, the official Competition Rules and Guidelines states (http://www.iupui.edu/~ieee/docs/battlebots.pdf) (page 4):

The BattleBots Arena or "BattleBox" is a forty-eight (48) foot square raised two (2) feet off the ground.

Sounds like it's a constant size to me. Looks like hubby wins! :P

That's actually Robot Wars or something on the TNN network hosted by Mankind. It has a pit, flame pit and 4 corner arena robots. Much better than battlebots as far as the arena goes in my opinion but the bots in the battlebots one are more sophisticated and better drivers.

Oh belive me, they've gotten into spats over many more minor things than battlebots-Last summer it was a drawn out argument over how much trash a 20 gallon garbage can can actually hold. These guys LOVE the excitement of having to call each other out on the carpet for something-typical neighbors, very good friends, big pains in the ass..It's always exciting around here..and then we wives have to usually settle the damn arguements.

Between my hub and the neighbor-there is always something going on-they are like big huge kids. They are always doing stupid crap like the garbage can situation, the battlebots, and alot of other stuff.Their usual antics include squirt gun wars-with those huge super shooter things..You know the kind-that hold about 3 gallons of water..well they make them better and bigger(engineers,go figure) and then proceed to blast everyone in the neighborhood with them, and chase each other around yelling YOU'RE DEAD! etc..it's great fun *sarcasm* One summer, they tried to come up with a way to "catch and release" squirrels-they built these very cool workable traps, set the bait and waited. They caught squirrels alright, and cats, and skunks, and even a possum...they are smart guys-with no common sense. It's usually when I hear "Hooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnney" that I say UH-OH.
