How the hell would one explain the duties of a sales person? For whatever reason this one application that I am filling out for a lovely government attorney position is asking me for my employment history. Simple enough. But for whatever reason I cant figure out how to explain what a sales person does. It just seems that if you are a sales person its evident what you did, you sold things. I feel like an idiot writing, I sold X...but truthfully when you are a sales person you sell things. That is your job.

Anyone have any ideas?

That is pretty good. So far I had this:

Responsible for selling the products carried by The Good Guys! I was in constant contact with the general public, provided information/demonstrated the products we carried, and conducted the final transactions. Additional duties included setting up and maintaining displays as well as trouble shooting customer problems.

I had not tweaked it yet to make it sound better...this was more or less just the pre-tweaked version.

Was there anything else outside your job description that you performed, for example either opening or closing the store, checking in inventory, etc. Those also can be added in as responsibilities.
