Tonight I was foolin' around with the old lady and she thought it would be funny to drop an elbow on me from about 10 feet. Now I'm a pretty big fella, but it doesn't matter how big you are, an elbow and a rib do not mix! It's swole up now and I'm a little worried it might be broken. I guess I'll know for sure when I start coughing up blood :puke:

Anyone got any sore rib solution?:ugh:

When I read the thread title, I thought, "Another dog bite?!" Luckily that wasn't the case!

On the bright side, your lady will have some "making up" to do. ;)

Hope you feel better soon.

man, that sucks. tell the lady to be careful.....you're just a big teddy bear :P

meanwhile, put some ice on it, take some tylenol, and see how it feels in the morning.

and if it's really broken, have ufcrusher sue her for assult -- he needs something to keep him busy :D

Yeah, cuz there's no real way to medically fix a broken rib. It kinda has to sit there.... I bruised mine awhile ago, and I was lucky it didn't break.

All you can do is tape it and forget about it. If you know a nurse or sports trainer(friend, cousin, distant relative) ask them to tape it for you. It'll be cheaper and there is nothing else to do about it.
Keep medical insurance costs lower. Don't go to urgent care fo something they can't fix.

Back in August while working in my garage I had twisted the wrong way to install something and hurt my ribs, I got up and tried to rub out the pain but when I went to finish up what I was doing I had twisted the wrong way again and hurt it once more. I can honestly say that for the first 4 weeks it was uncomfortably sore and it took up until now to totally get rid of the pain. I never went to the doctor but I found out quick what I could do and not and one of them was not go to the gym.

i fractured a few ribs when i was sick with pneumonia (who knew you could fracture ribs by coughing hard!!). anyway, the doc said it's almost useless for me to get bandaged or anything like that, because they would have to completely immobilize the area... and since you're breathing, your ribs are moving, so that's pretty much an impossiblity. :-p his suggestion was to dope myself up on as much ibprofen as humanly possible (i love that stuff!) and wait a few months for it to heal... g'luck! hope you heal fast!!!
