Anyone here using Solaris 9? What are you thoughts/experiences with it running on IA hardware?

Sorry, I haven't personally used Solaris 9 on IA - only SPARC.

However, check out Solaris x86 (http://solaris-x86.org/) for more information, specifically the forums and mailing lists. I am actually interested in installing Solaris 9 on one of my machines, so if you make the jump, let me know how it goes!
