help please, i've wasted too many cd-r's on this project. i want to install red hat 8.0, i downloaded iso's 1-3 from their ftp as they said. i try to burn them as iso's in nero 5, no good{:mad2:}. i decompress the iso's, and make disc 1 a bootable iso with the decompressed disc 1 files. i burn the decompressed discs 2 and 3 as iso's also but not bootable, still no good{:mad3:}. what do i do?
i can get to the linux install screen using the bootable disc 1 that i made but when the time comes to actually install it claims there is no linux disc in the drive{:mad4:}.
am i missing something? please help.

after you burn the disc, do you look at it, to make sure all the files are there? (did that once :heh: )

I prefer to get my ISO's from http://www.linuxiso.org

have you tried different brands of disc's (like your only using memorex and you have some spare sony's sitting around?)

Also, if you have another burning program, try that out, although i don't know why, that sometimes can help.

hope that helps you on your path to independence ;)

yeah...what nija said. or you can do a checksum after the download.

but really...why use 8.0? 8.1 will be better :)

(for that matter, 7.1 would be better as well...as in more stable)
