I am really tempted to get on that Dell Deal with a friend of mine. But we both want WindowsXP professional and More memory. Any way to configure the machines?

When we click the configure button the proce skyrockets, even when I tried to downgrade the price was higher

I can't get free shipping on this purchase. It still shows a price $198 when I go to check out. Any idea's how to get the free shipping to work? Thanks!

Yeah, i'm trying to get it to a 1.8P4, XP Pro and a 17 inch refurbished monitor...and I want 3 of em.

With my math...323-100+60+140 = 423 each

With their math...it comes out to 548 each....them bastards are trying to screw with me screwing them...argh!

It is and remember 2350's are not very customizable....

It was discussed here... They don't even have an AGP slot....

Plus it has only a 200 W PS, Room for only 1 HD and here is complete specs...

My coworker ordered two systems last nite. Both were the bare bones systems with the same specs listed on deals page...didn't tweek anything. He called Dell this morning and they said the price was wrong and after adjusting the price, they want $825 for the two systems...what a bunch of bastids.

Take it easy man. The key phrase here is "Called Dell". The number one rule of deal making is NEVER call the company if it's a potential price mistake.

I'd say, "Ok, nevermind then, I don't want one" then hang up, git my butt back online and order the one thats the price mistake. Don't forget, you can always change things on it once it's in your house with the money you saved.

But unless you are doin' some serious Networking... XP home works just fine.

I have several friends who upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro and they said this was the biggest mistake they erver made. Nothing but O/S trouble with the Pro version.

I am sorry, but your friends must not be too bright. I have had experiance with both Home and Pro. For the average user, they are nearly identical. Pro has more networking and management features. They are the same kernal so again, they are not too bright.

On a side note, I missed the deal. I am kind of happy because Now I can save that money for a Hyper Threaded CPU.

A CLEAN INSTALL is the only way to go.... then your friends probably wouldn't have had any problems. WinXP Pro is the "bomb diggy" in my book.

Agreed XP is awsome. Installing one os over another is a bad mistake… No no :disa: :banghead:

I like to add the 2350 also makes it almost impossible to install any internal IDE device. One side slides open so you can put in memory. The other side is riveted on so your just gonna have to let that other cd-rw, hard drive hang on to only one side. Grrr...dell bastards.
