Seeing how my Dell 2350 has no AGP slot and I'm too cheap to get a PCI video card, do you think you can play Mechwar 4 on it without any noticeable difference?

The doc at Dell or Intel (I forget which) says if you got over 256 megs of Ram, the intel integrated graphics chip will act like a 32 meg video card.

Worth a shot or not?

I'm not sure about MechWarrior...but why do you have your system specs listing a GeForce4 Ti4200...if you're really running the onboard graphics card? I'm just confused. This isn't Anandtech. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I don't usually list what I want as what I have... Then again...I run a GeForce4 Ti4600 from PNY...and have a GeForce4 Ti4200 collecting dust on my bookshelf from the last time I upgraded my main computer...so there isn't really much more I could want besides slight improvements.

Epox 8-KHA
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
512 MB PC2100 DDR
GeForce4 Ti4600 (PNY) overclocked to 315/722 and running 30.82 drivers
Sound Blaster Audigy X-Gamer
TDK 52x CD-RW
Sony 16x DVD-Rom
Maxtor 7200 RPM 30 GB
IBM 7200 RPM 120 GB

(and yes...I know that the 8KHA doesn't support anything above XP 1800s...but it works, so I never chose to upgrade the motherboard yet)

Yeah, I'm with SBP. I think it will run...but I strongly doubt it will run smoothly with decent graphics settings...

yah...the ti 4200 was in a computer I built. It's dead Jim. So I'm saving up for a shuttle and the Dell was for my gf and I to share. Not a gaming rig...just internet and wordprocessing stuff.

Why don't you try and see? It's better than asking some dumb dell dude who probably doesn't know too much...

But, on the topic, I had a friend who had a similar problem that you have. Dell with no graphics card. He couldn't play counterstrike too well. Granted this was about 3 years ago, but I think you'll have the same problem.

I just installed it. At first it didn't look like it was going to run but this other window where it asks for your video settings was in the background. I set it to the lowest and it runs smooth. The only thing the controls are all messed up. It seems to be stuck always turning left after I completed the training. Then I couldn't turn left or right just rotate torso left and right in the missions.

So graphics wise it's ok...but the controls got messed up.
