Can somebody recommend a good (free) DVD Player application that can play all region DVDs? My friend is running Win XP.

Thanks!!

Using any of these utilities (http://www.dvdvideo.co.nz/dvd_downloads.htm) should allow the tweaking of popular DVD software like WinDVD, PowerDVD and others.

Keep in mind that many new DVD-ROM drives are hardware region locked, and in that case the only utility that claims to work (though I have not tried it myself) is DVD Region-Free.

WinDVD always trashes my Media Player (won't correctly stream MPG files) and PowerDVD always trashes Windows Movie Maker so I just use my hacked set top player. :)

Ok I just tried DVD Region Free 1.32 (http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm) out, and sure enough my Pioneer DVR-105 which is region-locked was able to play a Region 4 title perfectly with Windows Media Player 9.

Excellent!
