So what are the worst pictures, songs, texts, movies that you guys have accidentally downloaded? Perhaps mislabelled or perhaps you just weren't paying attention and clicked the wrong file. This thread results from last night I selected "Catch me if you can" to download...and this morning there was a 700 meg porno of some weird looking ital boinking chicks on a boat for god knows how long... The worst part is that whoever mislabelled the file in the first place (from now on to be referred to as "the dick") also set the file so that it can't be deleted (except through dos). That's it...I'm going to kill the dick. Yes, you heard me...I'm going to f*** the dick up. I'm going to give the dick rigor mortis and bury the dick where the sun doesn't shine. Wait...that doesn't sound right... :-p

Okay, but my worst download mistake was about 2 years ago with a file titled "UCLA Women's Basketball Lockerroom". Now...I'm not a porn addict, but when I did a search for UCLA on Kazaa this was one of the few files that were returned, so I thought "what the hell?" Now...I know that the chicks on that team are hideous (to put it nicely), but I guess I have to attribute this mistake to morbid curiosity.
Well, when the file finished...I ran the thing and...for some reason there was an old white chick wearing a Teddy lying on her back...and then she called her dog...and then the dog licked something...and then my roommate hit close really fast and deleted the file (my roommate was the one who actually did the search, but he and I were both curious what the file was, so it was on his computer). Thank god for his quick reaction time...but it wasn't quite quick enough to avoid emotional scarring...or scaring...
Heck, the file is probably still available somewhere on Kazaa if you're curious about it...you sick bastard.

When I was in Mexico on my laptop someone linked me to a picture of a transexual naked black guy. I guess I don't know how, but I must have accidently queued it to print but since I had no printer nothing happened. Whenever I got back home and hooked up my laptop here the pritner started printing something and I had no idea what it was. Low and behold I get a pic of a naked black (wo)man with a boner.

I acidently downloaded something from gator inc. It was a pop up ad designed to look like the file I wanted to download but it was some gator shizzel. I promptly ran adaware and solved that problem.

How do u set a file to be undeletable except through DOS? I've encountered similar files from spyware or programs that just refused to go away after the program was uninstalled.
Just wondering.

I really have no idea how you do it, but I see it all the time with misnamed movie files (I download a lot of TV episodes). Bastards...

Due to the "No Potty Thread" clause of this forum, I cannot in right mind describe the worst accidental download that I have encountered.
Let's just say that it involved quite a bit of white stuff, brown stuff and... puke stuff. Those Japanese are so weird! :2far:

I don't know how to make it so that it's undeletable..but i do know if you go to a dos prompt and type: rd /s /q DirectoryName it will get rid of the entire directory and it's subfolder/files

Here's another "The Japanese can be sick" story...
Back in the day when Kazaa first came out (2 years ago, I believe), I downloaded a file called "Breakdancing something something blah blah"
When I opened it up, it was anime! But not any anime, it started off with a dream sequence this BOY was having. He dreamed of this naked GIRL coaxing him to do these perverted things to her... uggggggh, I guess they call that stuff Hentai from what I hear? But this one was just wrong! The kid couldn't have been more than 10!!!

(in a nod to C.O.)
There has been so many quite nasty downloads, since I started d/ling with Direct Connect. I remember once I was d/ling new Anime series that I didn't recognize and I happened upon one..,the series was called LaBlue Girl (I think). Anyway, within the first five minutes, there was this demon that was raping this girl (the heroine?) with his "tentacle of lust" or some such. This #thing# was bigger than his arm and the end of it was definately fallic.
I was suprised, shocked, and confused.
:hmm: Japanese are wierd? Yes coleslaw... Yes they are... :hmm:

Go to your Start Menu, select Run and then type "command". This should bring up a DOS window. Hit "cd\" to go up one directory or "cd blah" to change to a folder named blah. If you wish to see a list of files and folders, type "dir" (or "dir /w /p" if there are a large number of files). Then when you find the file, type "del badabing.exe" to delete a file called badabing.exe in your current folder. For a more direct method you can type "del c:\blah\halb\badabing.exe" to delete a file titled badabing.exe from the folder c:\blah\halb. Hoppe this helps...and you don't accidentally remove anything too important.

Actually, this is a bug in XP and 2000, and you usually can avoid going to dos. Sometimes, deleting part of the file name will allow you to delete it. Some times, going into the file properties, and unchecking read only will do it. Sometimes, you need to drag it to the desktop, then to the trash. It's a really strange bug where even when you open a different AVI file, windows still has it as being in use. It's something to do with how windows catalogs video files.

There is a registry hack that will allow you to delete avi files without a problem, described here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=100406
However, after you delete said registry key, you will lose the ability to get some file info from the avi through Properties. Using an app like GSpot, however, will allow you this insight and more.

wow.
things have moved a long ways when we have to explain how to delete a file in dos.
(and that's not a slam on you, joe, it's just weird to me that when i was in high school -- which wasn't that long ago!! -- all of us computer nerds could do all kinds of crazy **** in DOS. now.....a thing of the past  makes me feel freakin' old :disa: )

Yeah...actually whitak, the first time I chose to go through and delete all of these lingering files was just a week or so ago...and I had to sit there for a minute before all of the DOS commands came back to me. I remember cd and cd\ and d:\ stuff...but oh well. Enough came back that it worked. I remember I used to do all sorts of IP tracking through DOS...but now I wouldn't have the faintest clue how to even begin. The best I could probably do with DOS roday is ping a server, haha.

IF YOU REALLY want to laugh-check out the Nimoy VIDEO of Bilbo Baggins.
