that most (not all, but a majority) of the posters in the Got|Deals? forum are fairly newbies, while most of the experienced posters are in the other forums?

Not really...I was in the Got Deals forum mostly when I started and then started to migrate to other topics.

I do notice however that the new registerees often go directly to the Got Deals section or right to the For Sale/Trade section. Not like I but anything (just looking) but I'm leery of new registered ppl first posting in the For Sale/Trade section or having a registered name that's slightly spelled differently than another one.

Maybe they'are long time lurkers first time posters but the same can be said of ebay.

I think it's hard to continiously keep posting deals. It is a lot easier to post a few deals and then just hang out, occationaly posting a deal that jumps into their lap.

well, if by "newbies" you mean people with a low number of posts, it makes sense. a majority of people who visit this site rarely/never leave the deals page and got deals? forum. so unless you're mysterX, it's difficult to pick up a huge number of posts exclusively in the deals forum.

also, i think you see us "experienced posters" getting largely burned out on deals (after you've requested 452 free t-shirts, none of which have come, you eventually quit trying :hihi: ) and so we don't post as much in that forum (in addition, most of us have bought so many of the past deals that we can't afford to buy any moer deals :P)
