So I went to a party last night thrown by a magazine . . . Eve performed . . . it was fun. Anyway, afterwards, we went to a hotel for the after party. However, before the magazine folks got there, I slapped down my credit card to start a tab. (For later reference . . . it was the only time in the evening that I gave my credit card to anyone).

Anyway, when the mag folks came, the bar gave me back my credit card and just put my drinks on the mag's tab.

Long story short, I drank a BUNCH last night . . . both at the party and at the post-party . . . and when I woke up today, I wasn't exactly feeling great. Well, I hear my cell phone ring that there's a voicemail message for me . . . came at 2:38AM last night . . . caller ID "Unknown" . . . I listen, and it basically says this . . .

"Hi, this is Sherry with the Asian Love Escort Service. I'm calling to remind you of your 2:30 appointment . . . it's a bit after 2:30 and we're wondering if you're going to show up. We have you scheduled for the 2 girls on 1 guy service. If you do not show up, we will still have to charge your credit card. If you would like to reschedule for another time, just give us a call."

Honestly, my immediate thought was, "Holy Crap . . . was I really THAT drunk last night?" . . . I don't think I could get drunk to the point of doing THAT . . . then I thought maybe it was a prank of some sort by one of my friends . . . but I really couldn't think of anyone who would do that . . . plus, they would have had to get a woman to make the call, and figured out how to block their caller ID . . . plus they would have had to do this at 2:30AM, and they've all got to work, so I don't think any of them would even be awake.

So, given that my credit card hasn't been charged anything, I'm thinking it was just a wrong number and some poor shlub is not gettin' his asian love.

Damn I do wish I'd been awake to take that call though . . . could have made an interesting conversation out of that.

its not hard to block your number from caller ID..If I remember correctly all the party as to do is dial *82 (I think that's the number)...do you REALLY think that someone is going to DOUBLECHECK if you're not going to show up for your "appointment"?..HARDLY..they would just take the card number and charge away-I seriously doubt it was anything but a gag..relax, and wait for your statement to come in the mail..if there isn't a charge-then the jokes on you. :)..and I say this only because I don't remember ever having my address and phone number listed on ANY of my credit cards-so without doing like a complete investigation on you with a credit card company (.."hello American Express?-this is the asian dating service and we would like a home phone number and address for mr so and so...)..and I think if that DID happen, your credit card company would let you know about it right away. Personally, I'm betting that it was someone you know who was pulling your leg.

It is, in most markets AFAIK. And *82 is the opposite, it allows called ID information if you have the service blocking all of your calls.

I REALLY do not think it was a friend . . . none of my friends have any history of doing anything like this . . . they're all very professional. Also, everyone who has heard the message thinks it's real. The woman who called sounded very professional . . . definitely wasn't the first time she'd made a call like that.

And yes, I do think an escort service would call to see why someone was late . . . it didn't sound like a sketchy operation . . . they are a business and want repeat customers.
