I currently use Direct Connect, DC++, and Kazaa Lite 2.03. I use it for downloading (like everyone else) but I also share a lot of files (>30GB). Sharing is good...but when someone downloads from my computer, the uploads (from my comp) take almost all the bandwidth, and my downloads tank.
Is there a way to limit uploads from my computer to, say 10KB/s?
(I am connecting through a Netgear MR314 and Motorola cable modem.)

for kazaa all you have to do is go to tools > options > advanced tab, then you'll see that there's an blank for "bandwidth to be used in kilobits for transferring files to other Kazaa (Lite) members. also, if you look under the "traffic" tab, you can limit the number of simultaneous uploads.
btw: the lowest i can put it is 24 kb/s but that might be related to individual settings.

if you run unix, you can make a packet shaper.
