need a company program for constulting

is there a program that lets u put information regarding companies and employees and info whats some examples

its for a friend im not sure what his company is but if u guys know any programs plz let me know :P

Any database program would work. Hell, if they are running a Microsoft Exchange server they can simply set up a global address book.

You could even create a simple contact sheet in Excel or Word.

There are a dozen possibilites, perhaps you could have your friend clarify exactly what they want as your post was very very vague.

Sounds like maybe you're looking for a CRM system - customer relationship management - where you can enter info about contacts, companies, meetings, sales cycles, etc?

If that's what you're looking for, there are about a million out there, depending on the size of your friend's company. Smaller ones include Outlook, Goldmine, Act!, Lotus Notes, etc. You can go all the way up to a totally customized enterprise system from Siebel, SAP, PeopleSoft, Vantive, etc. but at that level you're talking hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

If he's just running a small business, I'd recommend Act! (http://www.act.com/) or even just start out with Outlook & see if that meets his needs.

I would not recommend Peoplesoft. I used it for 6 months doing some accounting work. Granted it was for Thomson Financial which alone has over 170 divisions/entities. In any case, I found that the program was:

1) slow
2) not user-friendly
3) slow
4) did i mention it's not user-friendly?
5) costs to maintain are enormously high since it's built around oracle db.

DON'T DON'T DON'T TOUCH LOTUS NOTES. It's old, slow, and really dumb.

We use it at work, and most of us curse at it...ok...just me, but still it's bad.

alright so now i know what i am looking for

need some help

its like a consulting group...with case numbers..client info (Phone # name, phone etc.)

this is the hard part
there is documentation they want to scan from scanner and have the pictures connected to each client...

im talking 8-15 pages of documentation...
maybe to like jpegs... or what not

the thing is to have a list of all of them then easily get to them to case number or name

if anyone can help me plz :D
