I had my host install it for me and it was easy to custimize.

I just use www.dotphoto.com and upload all my folders there. I can set passwords to certain folders and invite people whom i would like to share it with.

I used to put the photos on my own webpage, but i didn't feel like updating anymore. Now all i do is take the pictures, transfer them to the PC, and then upload it to dotphoto.com

The reason I like gallery so much is because you have total control, its at your web site and not someone else’s, you customize the headers and footers, you control if there are banner ads or not and you set the permissions on anything you want.

I could use the functionality of Gallery, but can't access the root directory of my hosting server to install it. Is there a PC based software that does something similar? I have 100's of photos to host, and want to automate the creation of thumbnails, folders, and descriptions of the photos, and generate the html. I would like to do this on the PC then ftp to the server.

you can use photoshop to make some nice premade galleries. It will make the webpage,a nd thumbnails and links and what not. All you have to do is upload the entire folder, it is really nice.

Gallery dosnt need root access to install and you can use Gallery Remote to add the photos to it via your desktop. I really think its what you are looking for to save you time!!!
Email me if you need help installing and setting it up.

I never was able to get gallery to work with my host because of soemthing about the server running in safe mode or seomthing like that.

My host is: http://www.vonetwork.net

I have a reseller account: $7.95/month
2gb Storage
15gb Bandwidth

And I resell though: Fuzzed.net

This is my 3rd host, and compared to the last two these guys are the best. I have had no down time, they are very good to me, they upgraded my account to a new dual 3.06mhz server, very decent.

I hope that helps,
Corey
