this question may sound trivial at first, but if you think about it its worth some consderation.
so is it safe to put windows 2k on my XP Pro machine? I already have Word XP (Came with the computer, reinstalled it after the initial hard drive wipe), and want to make sure that there wont be compatability issues.
Has anyone done this? THanks

If you mean can you install Office 2K on Windows XP, then yes that should not be a problem even with Word XP. The only Office application that can't coexist with another version of the same software is Outlook (i.e. you can't have Outlook 2K and Outlook XP installed at the same time AFAIK).

Nope, won't work. When you install one version, it overwrites files used by the other version (MAPI and other common files).
