new game suggestions

Hey,
I just got some new toys (Dell 1800FP Ultrasharp, Radeon 9700, 512 more megs PC2100) and want to push them with a game. I also want to retire Quake III Arena :bigmouth: .


whats a good 1st person shooter type game to get? and also a fat ass auto racing game!!

I've been playing No One Lives Forever 2, Unreal II, and Soldier of Fortune 2 lately. Great graphics and reasonable A.I. make for some pretty good single player gaming. I'm thinking about picking up Splinter Cell also... I'm not much into driving games for the PC (or console for that matter :shrug: ) so I won't make any recommendations in that area.

As far as online multiplayer games go, I play a lot of Tactical Ops: AOT. So many lamers out there though (although not quite as bad as Counterstrike), that it gets frustrating at times. The key is finding a good server with active mods who keep the cheating to a minimum. I'm looking forward to the release of Counterstrike: Condition Zero. Hopefully it will be all that it's been hyped up to be...

Unreal 2 is graphical intensive although its gotten mixed reviews and is short.

There is also UT 2003.

No One Lives Forever 2 got high ratings and is the one I would pick up before the others.

Soldier of Fortune 2 uses a modified Quake 3 Team Arena.

CynJon: I don't have much hope for Counterstrike: Condition Zero. Its development has been problematic and its been passed around to various developers over the years like a cheap ho on Friday night.
