I bought the IBM 36GB unit a few months back on UBID for $119. I could have bought 6 of them for the price of 1 Seagate unit. And I am only sacrificing 2%-6% speed.

Yeah, but your getting 1/2 the size, and its an IBM (who I do not trust anymore).

I wouldn't say 2-6% either, the 36LP was easily 5%+ faster than any of the IBM drives (as found at storage reviews database), and the 15k.3 is anywhere between 2-6% faster than the 36LP. Plus you get the 5-year warranty.

Although, I do have to admit, $119 for 36 Gigs of 15k goodness is nice ;)
