Hello all,

I'm planning to build a Intel P4 system with the following parts.

Intel P4 2.4b
ASUS P4PE
2 Crucial PC2700 256MB
1 Sony Floppy
1 16x Lite-on DVD-ROM
1 52x Lite-on CDRW
Audigy 2
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
1 7200RPM hard drive
2 case fans

Of course more power is better but wow many watt would you say it's good enough for this system? 350, 400 watt? BTW, I will purchase name brand PSU (Antec, Allied, and etc), not some OEM ghetto one.

TIA

350 watts should get the job done. I'd feel better with 400 watt.

I agree, 400w would be optimal, but I've sqeaked out enough juice for systems similar to your with a 250w. Just that if someone turns on a vacuum in the next room, your machine will bounce. :)

Go with 400W PSU since your video card requires external power!

Other than Antec, what other "quiet" PSU would you guys recommend?

I have my eyes on Allied 400watt. Though they are AMD recommended, I think they are good enough for Intel P4. What are your opinions? :)
