View Full Version : Very Cool Game...Freelancer

I just started playing this, and I was shocked to find out you can't use a joystick. Oddly enough, the way this game plays, the mouse-keyboard combo feels totally natural.

This is one really fun game. I loved Wing Commander and Freespace games, and this one is simple, slick, and a blast to play. The graphics, sounds, and gameplay are like being inside a good anime space battle. :cool:

This game is good. But I found that the non-story missions are quite limited. Go there, shoot up the place, leave, or for variety, go there, kill someone, shootup the place, leave.

What happened to the escort, survellience, smuggling, delivery missions that even Privateer had??

Oh and the story is great up until the end. Then it becomes uncomprehensible.

due dude dude. I just got it a few days ago. At first i thought it was bad bc i couldnt hear any of the character convos, then i realized the problems and replace my snd crd drvrs. I am stuck right now though, so i am wondering in space with that chick and we are looking for corrupt peeps. oh well it is fun, i suggest you all PbIRuATyE yourself a copy. srry 4 bad grmmr, im losin gamin time evry letter i type. (damn freelancer is addictive)

Hey, i am stuck on a level right now, Me and Juni (jun'ti) had to proctect 2 cargo ships. I am a level 5 and we went and protected these ships through a couple way points and to willard station. Once at willard station We dock resupply and ship off. Once I meet her back in space We start heading toward our way point. On uor way we meet these 3 military ships and they say something but for some reason my audio does not play it. I know I am not the only person to have had this problem of verbal audio not playing, but what these 3 ships say keeps me from knowing what to do because all my objectives list says to do it just sit around and wait. Well I tried that for 30 min, didnt work, then I flew around the whole system and it woundlt let me dock to anything. So now I am stuck not being able to play this awsome game.

Seems like I was attacked on the way out of Willard station...when in doubt, kill the ships.

Are you saying you have NO spoken audio?

If so:
You need to...read the readme file-it has the steps to fix this. (I also had this, until I installed the game the MS way.)

I wub joo Bires. That fix everything, only took a couple of unstalls and re-installs of the sound driver to fix. And i am not level 6 w00t.

by the way, if you guys are interested. I got a server running named GForce World. I have a couple of people playing there all the time.
Its up 24/7. I occasionally drop in to so hope to see some of you there. Max of 16 players. Might be slow for some of you East Coasters.

damn that sucks. i wonder why it doesn't list. I'll post some info if i find out why this isn't working

Was watching the reviews on Extended Play... got to love some of the catchy dialog:

"Yup"

"Uh huh"

I know that this isn't all of the dialog in the game when I play it. It's just funny to see a show spin doctoring it.
