Hey all-
If you open an account with ING Direct, they'll give you $25. There's no minimum balance, and their interest rates are higher than any local bank.
Also, once you have an account, they'll give you $10 for every person that you refer up to $250.
INGDirect - Promotion (http://home.ingdirect.com/promo/promo_set.asp?t=%a1%92%b7%b2%bd%b0%b6%b9%b0%b2%b8%b4%)
This kind of reminds me of the X.com stuff from a few years ago, except ING isn't some crappy internet bank that will go out of business.

I got on this deal about three years ago, and ING is my primary savings bank.
The best part is the rate is 2.5%
Most savings accounts are about 1%-lower than the CPI (inflation) so your money actually LOSES value in other savings accounts.
Finally, ING is FDIC insured, and a premiere loan institution as well.

I got in on the $50 deal last year as well. It is still free cash, but be aware that ING reports it to the IRS as interest income. So you will get a 1099-INT form from them at the end of the year and be taxed on it. Granted it is a moot point considering you are getting $50 out of the deal, it did have a minimal effect on my return when I added in their info.

actually, it's this link that's not working, ignore my above post....
I've been an ING member for nearly 1.5 years now. I've been very happy with everything and couldn't ask for anything more...except higher interest rates in this S&&%#*$ economy.

ING ranks #5 in Fortune magazine
ING has once again made Fortune magazine's list of "World's Most Admired Companies", climbing from #7 last year. ING has jumped to a top-five position in the category global life and health insurers in Fortune's latest survey on company reputation, making it the leading non-US company in its peer group.
This acknowledgement is all the more impressive given that it is based on the opinions of the toughest of judges: a company's own competitors. Respondents ranked their industry peers on a scale of one to ten, in nine categories: quality of management; quality of products and services; innovation; long-term investment value; financial soundness; ability to attract, develop and retain talent; responsibility to the community and the environment; wise use of corporate assets; and global business acumen. A company's overall ranking is based on the average of the scores in all nine categories.

Yea! I got my $50 today! :D
Awesome deal, guys!
By the way, skynet, you are screwing people over by referring them. They could earn $50 by signing up through the link passwird posted but when you refer them, they only get $25. All so you can earn $10.

I don't think it's considered a gift. It's more like a bonus and you do have to report bonuses. When I was recruited my senior year of college, I lost half of my signing bonus to Uncle Sam. :(

I keep trying to refer people to this in my dorm, but they all think I'm scamming. When I tell them all they have to do is put 50 cents(yes, that's the minimum they'll accept for opening an account) in an account and in 1 month, they get 25.50 out(I'm sending them the link from my account, so they only get the 25, haha, suckers.
P.S. does anyone know how to get the $50 link that counts as a referral??
bling, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Peace out
