Anyone know how to sync multiple Palm phones to one MS Exchange Server without having duplicates? The way it is set up is there are 3 people with Palm phones and they want to sync to the same server and not have duplicates. How do you avoid having duplicates? Say 2 people add the same contact to their palm and then sync up, but one was spelled differently. Now you have 2 of the same essentially. Are there any settings to check all of the fields and have the program tell you something like all of the fields are the same except one and ask if you want to overwrite?

Also, the Palm only uses the catergories (private and public) to sort the contacts. So when syncing from the server to the Palm it is ok as long as you have a the catergory set correctly. When you sync from the Palm to the server, however, all contacts are dumped into one folder. Is there a way to separate the contacts as they are being sent to the server?

um..... will they be doing this often or just every now and a again...

is just a one tiem thing soemthing that does not happen oftern. you could export all the contacts as Tab Delimitered (.cvs) from each of the palm's then use ones users account in outlook to import the other files and when inporting the .cvs file choose do not all duplicates....

You can definitely sync up multiple devices to the same account. I do that with a group of residents, who all need access to the same calendar and contacts. Hotsync might not allow you to do all the custom synching like you want with the private and public accounts, but something like Intellisync (http://www.pumatech.com/is_desktop_main.html) allows you to determine which items get updated and where. I have researched this type of product before and I think that Intellisync is the best.

By the way, are you logging onto an Active Directory with your PC, or are you just a standalone machine accessing a remote Exchange server?

Good luck.
