Yeah i'm a noob. I accidently moved my winamp too high on my desktop and now there's no way I can click on it...i mean i can open the program and all but when it opens up the prog opens up off screen somewhere really high on the desktop. My monitor is already at the max resolution so I can't make it any bigger to find it...what can I do???
thanks..
open the program up and click ctrl-D. That should make it double size and you might be able to find it.

/me to the rescue... :P
OK, make sure Winamp is not running and then open C:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp.ini
Change the 'wy' value to '0' and save the file.
The next time you open Winamp, it should be snapped to the top of your display. You may also need to tweak other '*_wy' ('eq_wy', etc.) values if your playlist/equalizer/minibrowser are still off of the screen when you change the 'wy' value.
Hope this helps. :)

Coleslaw is the man. If it is a program, then you can just right click on the icon in the taskbar, and then use Move. Use your keys to move it onto the screen and press Enter.

haha yea that does work!..i never knew i could use the arrow keys to move it...how cool =D...but winamp is retarded and has their own pop-up menu when u right click it, and they conveniently left the Move button OUT. :bigmouth: :bawl:

Hmmm this is getting challenging. What happens when you change your resolution to the smallest possible resolution, then shift back to the highest?

For one thing, your file extensions are hidden.
It looks like it would be the winampa(.ini) file.
Also, I believe you are clicking on the Winamp icon in the system tray rather than the button on the taskbar.

I checked all the readable files in the folder and none have the _wy variable.
and I wAs right clicking the button in the taskbar..as well as the one in the system tray, both do not have a Move option...
and i tryed going to 640X480 and then back to my max setting with no avail...>:T
.....yeah...thx everybody, all were great sugg... =( i think i might have to just reinstall winamp....>:(

So you are using Winamp 3.x then?
I haven't touched it yet. My suggestion works for 2.8x

I'm still using winamp 2.xx b/c winamp 3 sucks doesn't work with my internet key board's extra buttons like play/stop/next previous songs.
Now the question is how did you manage to move the icon out so far that you couldn't reach it? Strange indeed.
Usually a sort by name should help the situation especially if you size your desktop to the smallest resolution. (600x480). I don't know if that would work... but off the top of my head I feel like it would.

basing from my personal experience, winamp3 is still unstable for any decent use - it seems to load a lot slower and uses up more memory than 2.8...
i agree. winamp 3 crashes my Pc i prefer music match

I really haven't had any issues with Winamp 3. I actually had issues with a friends PC with Winamp 2 that 3 fixed.
