View Full Version : Installation complete but wrong drive msg?

I just installed the game Max Payne. After the installation, I clicked on the game icon to run it but it states" "PLease insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application."
I have a DVD ROM and a CD-RW drive. No matter where I put the CD, I still get the same message.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Please advise.

Pretty wierd. Can you run from the CD itself? Like instead of clicking on the shortcut on your computer, go to your Cd-rom and click Autorun, then click on Start game? I am not sure why your shortcut would not work but you might be able to run it from the CD. If not, Coleslaw might be able to help you reconfigure your registry.

Does that have more than one CD? I installed Splinter Cell and got the same problem when I put in the first CD. It was actually the last CD (of three) that was the one I needed to play it.

Use regedit and change the drive letter to whatever drive you want.
