A co-worker eMailed this to me, and I believe it is a better deal than the one posted for 50 Energizer Batteries.

Get the batteries at VStore <a href="http://www.vstore.com/cgi-bin/pagegen/vstoretoys/onlinevstore/page.html?mode=itempage&file=/page/itempagev4/itempage.spl&prodid=1109078">here</a>.

Use coupon code 34262SRVY for $5 off.

With the $6 rebate, it total comes up to about ~$5. Not bad; now I can use my TalkAbouts w/o worrying about the power drain as much.

Even though i don't like dishing out money, ie shipping fees, this is a deal you can't pass up, obviously I am not recieving my 60 free batteries... so 4.96 is the next best thing!!! Oh well I am getting ready to leave on a trip this should be a nice to get all the stuff when i get back!

I heard of some people getting their a while back. Bet they were not of the best quality. Probably an over-stock of some no name-brand species.

i saw this thing on tv - it was like, hard copy or extra or something like that, and they found out that the crappy store brand batteries, are actually made by energizer and duracell most of the time, and then the store just puts their name on them and pay duracell and energizer like, royalty fees or something. and they put all the different kinds of batteries to the test, and they are all almost the same - definately not worht spending 3 extra bucks on duracell instead of store brand....

Interesting! Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it mind when I run out of the Maxell batteries.

Yup yup, Crunchit gots it right. Most (all) generic brands (i.e. drugstores and supermarkets) are made by duracell, enegizer, and other large companies. The truth is a battery is a battery. The only difference is that of alkaline or heavy duty. Stay clear of heavy duty, they plain just suck. But if you purchase any alkaline battery you will get similar performance just as long as that they are not too old. In fact Consumer Reports did a test a while back and the battery that lasted the longest was a sanyo battery. Imagine that, but their conclusion was that there was so little difference with each battery that it doesn't matter.

I got my 60 batteries. You're right, they're some offbrand. "Radiant" brand. But they are alkaline, that's all I care. They came in like 1.5 weeks.

Consumer Reports says "To hell with brand names on disposable batteries." Not in so many words... but they say "buy them by price" aka... who cares what brand they are.

So name brand or not... as close to $0 for batteries sounds good.

Rechargeable NIMH is better deal in the long run, and less wasteful as well.

Do they make rechargable AA NiMH? I love these kinds of batteries and opt for them whenever I can (in my MD player, camcorder, etc.).

No memory worries, quick recharge, and decent power. Good stuff.

You guys are right about people buying batteries and putting their names on them.
my friend works at radio shack, he says that their batteries are made by energizer.

Yeah, I have the same problem. It asks for an original dated sales receipt. Their was no invoice in the box. I hope they honor the e-mail invoice.

Did anyone get their rebate?

I got my submission returned, with the reason "The recipt submitted is from a non-qualifying store".

Why don't you just by a battery charger so you don't have to mess around with buying tons of batteries? I also have talkabouts and the battery charger comes in handy. The battery charger I bought works on alkaline batteries also, not just NiCad. It only cost me $8 on ebay. I would try that first.
